I know this is a long anticipated blog post,
that everyone has been waiting to read.
Well, Parker Jace McCashland,
has arrived!!
a whole whoppin'
7lbs. 1oz.
born on Friday, August 17th, 2012.
Little guy tried to come the Sunday prior,
as I started having regular contractions.
We decided to go to the hospital,
but the contractions slowed down and eventually stopped.
I had to stay the night because I had high blood pressure.
I was put on bed rest that week and told o see the doctor,
Monday,
to get my blood pressure taken again.
I still had high blood pressure.
I continued to stay on bed rest,
and at my regular weekly check-up,
the doctor scheduled an induction for the next Tuesday,
and stripped my membranes.
(For the record, my doctor was out of town for the week. I saw a lot of different doctors this entire week)
Thursday afternoon, I started having regular contractions.
I stuck through them all afternoon and night,
until my water broke at 3:30am, Friday morning.
We headed to the hospital.
It was all a blur after I got there,
IV went in after 3 tries,
contractions started getting stronger and stronger,
family members showed up,
and the epidural was requested.
After the epidural,
life was amazing!
I couldn't feel any contractions anymore,
I even took a nap.
Then the doctor comes in to check me,
she didn't even have to check very far to feel baby's head.
She said, "Don't push, I am going to go change, and then we are going to have a baby!"
How in the heck do you not push???
5 pushes later,
baby entered the world!!
Everything went so smooth and everyone was health,
I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
I was in labor for a total of 7 hours after my water broke.
